What made you want to work at Flintridge Sacred Heart?

The authenticity I felt when I first walked the halls. It really felt like a school.

What has been your proudest professional accomplishment?

Finding the perfect book for the student who says s/he hates to read. I've done it countless times and it never, ever gets old.

What has been your favorite teaching moment at Flintridge Sacred Heart?

Watching seniors present at the Senior Research Showcase

What most excites you about your work here on the Hill?

listening to students talk about their ideas for the two big research projects, specifically the moment when it all comes together in their minds

What do you love about the all-girls environment at Flintridge Sacred Heart?

I love how focused many of our girls are on womanhood and what it means to walk through this world as a woman. I love that the girls are free from so many of the social demands that bogged down my own high school experience.

What's your favorite spot on campus?

Any and all of our many, beautiful balconies.

When not in the classroom/office, where can you be found?

Sherrie Singer's (assistant principal of curriculum & instruction) office

What's your favorite place in the world?

A three-way tie between my childhood home, my 5-year old son's room, and New Orleans

What are you surprisingly good at?

making red beans and rice

Who has made the biggest impact on your life?

my son

What book, movie, work of art, piece of music, etc. can you not imagine life without?

Miles Davis "Kind of Blue", The Robber Bride by Margaret Atwood, any and all historical maps (which I consider works of art)

What did you want to be when you grew up (at age 12)?

a marine biologist

What do you want to be when you grow up (now)?

a librarian
